U.S. Foreign Waterborne Transportation Statistics

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today released the June 2005 preliminary U.S. foreign waterborne transportation statistics. These statistics are based on the U.S. Bureau of the Census trade data matched to the U.S. Customs vessel entrances and clearances. Year-to-date figures through June 2005 show an increase in volume of 6% for imports and an increase in volume of 5% for exports over the same time period for 2004. The following cargo summary contains value and weight information by type of service on U.S. waterborne imports and exports for June 2005, along with year-to-date figures. Inbound and outbound in-transit data are not included.
