U.S. Foreign Waterborne Transportation Statistics

May 31, 2001

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) today released February 2001 official U.S. foreign waterborne transportation statistics. Year to date figures through February 2001 show a decrease in volume of 1% for imports and an increase in volume of 4% for exports over the same time period for 2000. The following cargo summary contains value and weight information by type of service on U.S. waterborne imports and exports for February 2001, along with year-to-date figures.
